I'm a teacher's son and i'have spent my life teaching. I've studied for that, i know what a teache should do and what not, cause i've seen the mistakes of who taught me and the achievements of those make this work amazig. For this reason i wanna join the minister of instruction, because a young nation need someone who perfectly knows how teach to young people, cause they will be the roots of our future magnificence.

I’m Philip Appleby and after waiting for years to see a space nation, the waiting is over. I am standing for Asgardia’s Parliament because the dream of a peaceful and populated space environment s my dream too.

I’ve seen the best and the worst of the human race. As a police officer in the United Kingdom I learned what bad people can do to other people. I was attacked by criminals and nearly died.

Instead of giving up, I entered politics – to try and create a society where these bad things do not happen. I have served as an elected representative of my local community and also served in public life in other ways, trying to improve the British political system.

Now, I want to join with fellow Asgardians to deliver the dream of a peaceful society together. I can help ensure we have secure systems which the criminals cannot break. I also know what a successful community needs – vision, hard work and good faith. I will bring all three to Asgardia’s Parliament.

As a future member of Asgardia Space Nation Parliament, I am committed to developing best practices and diversified set of tools / instruments to making our Nation the most educated and progressive on and above this planet.

As the first space nation, we have the chance for a fresh start. We have the opportunity to uphold ideals that have been written into many Earthly nations’ constitutions, but yet have been ignored. This is our chance to get it right. It’s going to take persistence and vigilance, but I believe that the dream can be achieved.

To rise above Earthly politics and divides, it’s going to take hard work . It’s going to take a critical eye and an assertive voice. And it’s going to take a great deal of communication , diplomacy , and clear branding for both Asgardians and non-Asgardians alike to understand what it is we’re striving for.

There will be stumbling blocks. Rome wasn’t built in a day and Asgardia will not be either, but we can get there. I stand for ensuring that those who have been underrepresented or marginalized on Earth will be treated as equals in this new nation. We can’t afford to forget humanity’s history of prejudices, injustices, and mistakes. In order to live up to the ideals in our constitution, we must learn to listen, to communicate clearly, and to work together.

But it’s not just about upholding ideals, it’s also about engaging in practical work . Along with achieving the greater dream, there is the reality of day-to-day administration that needs to be handled. With my extensive project management experience, I know that I can help push Asgardia’s agenda forward. I’m not afraid to roll my sleeves up and get to work.

Some architectures have multiple layers, with each layer acting as a platform to the one above it. In general, a component only has to be adapted to the layer immediately beneath it. For instance, a Java program has to be written to use the Java virtual machine (JVM) and associated libraries as a platform but does not have to be adapted to run for the Windows, Linux or Macintosh OS platforms. However, the JVM, the layer beneath the application, does have to be built separately for each OS.

1. Justice is not neutralising right and wrong. It is finding what is right and just, upholding it and fighting to reach the one who desreves it. No law can bring 100% citizen satisfaction. It satisfies only those it favors, but trust me when it followed 100% future will live in order and peace.
2. To build a great future, you need the future itself ,i.e., the youths. No one can determine a youth's capacity and efficiency. But they do have the fresh striving power and rage  to develop a place where their future doesn't need to struggle and suffer like they do. And their future gets the torch to develop even better place and this goes on as a cycle, keeping development to an infinite light year distance.
3. Culture develops a custom and custom transforms to Law. Culture brings an order which laws struggle to bring. But only when it is followed with discipline.
4. To make possible everything listed above, you need a person to represent you and that person is right before you. He who doesn't want to give false promises. He who wants to fight for you. He who wants you all to rule him and not the other way. He who wants to leave a better place for his people as his legacy. He who is named Nikshey bhavith. Vote for him for you to WIN and RULE. Praise Democracy! Praise its Protectors! Praise the People.

As a member of the Asgardian Parliament, I will utilize my law degree and years of expertise with legislation to assist in the building of Asgardian law and administration. In order to have a presence in space and among Earthly countries, it is important for Asgardia to have strong internal legislation for our citizens. Although it will be a challenge creating and/or adapting various types of regulation, such as intellectual property, administrative, and civil law, I hope to help build a strong legal foundation for Asgardia’s future.

Enterprise Facilitation was the job I didn’t get, but the year long process of application was a learning experience that brought me more than any job I’ve had. (I did make it as far as one of three finalists, however.)

Enterprise Facilitation seems to me to enable the success of social enterprise, as the Six Sigma process does for manufacturing: A guideline to constantly strive for quality and success, at the least expense, while enabling those who are in their chosen jobs to do what their passions energize them to do.

It all started with a little book called ‘ Ripples From the Zambezi ’, which describes, in essence, the misguided nature of well-meaning solutions that don’t ask the opinions of those we presume to help. There is much more to this philosophy, and all of it is relevant to success and reaching goals for Asgardia. Among other things Dr. Sirolli says: ‘If you want to help people, you need to shut up and listen’.

It is only from this perspective that I would be willing to participate as a legislative contributor for Asgardians. I don’t presume to have answers; those have to come from all of us.

There are many candidates with impressive qualifications and many others that bring mostly passion, and all of those perspectives together will form an unstoppable team, with the right facilitation. We have an impressive treasure trove of talented people.

My education is in Civil Engineering Technology; Construction Engineering and Management. One of the most important principles I came away from that with is the understanding of how to approach monumental tasks~ and that is to begin with the first step. From there, the second step is easier to see, and so on.

We cannot see our way, at a glance, from where we are now all the way to habitation on the moon and in space. We know it is possible, but the task is great. The first steps are easy to see though, if we look. Basic needs like food production, waste treatment and water recycling, quality of living spaces and sustainability.

While our scientists are planning our great escape, we need to feed them~ and ourselves. We need to ensure that we won’t be living in stuffy cubicles without a green growing thing in sight. We need to practice what we will be required to do in space. I don’t know if that will happen in my lifetime, it’s a pretty big goal, but we can pave the way for those who follow us by designing the systems we’ll need to sustain us there.

Toward that end, and only with collective agreement of course, it seems to me that we will need a land base where we can gather to learn and teach, a science and education facility that may one day be under a dome that would be replicated on the moon, perhaps even with our own launch facility, a place where we can experiment with Best Practices for food production and storage methods; working tools that can be carried off the planet. A place that would develop our science labs and facilities for things from robotics to astrophysics, where we can share ideas across disciplines in person, over coffee or a glass of wine.

I believe we need a permanent home base on this planet. A place to test our Constitution and our ability to work together and produce Good Work. This is a goal we can reach in the foreseeable future. A place to begin!

It’s not unheard of to have a sovereign speck of land within another country. Canada made a hospital room part of the Netherlands in the 1940’s, by an act of Parliament, so that a Dutch princess could be born ‘on Dutch soil’ while the Dutch monarchy was exiled during the war in 1943. If they could do it, so can we.

To assist Asgardia in recognition as a sovereign nation, perhaps there is a win-win situation within another country that also struggles for U.N. recognition. I can think of one country in particular who would qualify, might welcome us, and could certainly use the technological skills such a facility could share, from earthships (build homes from the rubble: Mike Reynolds et al) to water collection and purification to independent power generation.

My life experiences are varied. I have worked at many things, from rancher to engineer, in behavior management with special needs adults, as a manufacturing production planner, institutional cook, bartender, counselor, cab driver, oil patch remote camp manager, permaculture gardener (for 40 years), musician, artist, writer, mother, grandmother. I have three grandsons, two of whom are Blackfoot and Cree. I will not tolerate discrimination for any reason. I bring no dogma to the table.

If it were up to me, I would define my ministry as the Ministry of Nuts and Bolts! The closest I can find to that within our parameters is that of Industry, but that fits too. I am fairly industrious! (smile).

I am disabled and living on a very small fixed income. I would be happy to use my skills to help things stay focused while we move forward. I realized as I began to write today that my votes in Asgardia are the first time in my life I have voted in a federal election. I left the U.S. before I was old enough to vote, (It was the ‘70’s, Go West!) and have never had that ability in Canada. My family emigrated to North America from Scotland via Kent in 1635. I currently rent an old farmhouse out on the Alberta prairie, with a Husky/wolf dog and two cats, where I’ve been for 12 years.

I am astonished and delighted by the quality I see in fellow Asgardians. I hope that you will want to back me for this endeavor, but if that doesn’t happen, I will still be here, working beside you to help make our dreams a reality.

Education's inarguable value

1. Giving schools enough funds to be properly managed
   1. Hire more teachers for smaller classrooms
   2. Hire more teachers to teach a more diverse range of courses and encourage different learning styles
   3. Hire a/multiple school wide therapists for students in need of help due to mental health issues(depression, anxiety disorders, OCD, ADD, BDP, ect.)
2. Giving teachers adequate funds
   1. For getting proper and up to date education materials (Textbooks, Computers, Classrooms, ect.)
   2. Encourage field trips and hands on learning
3. Base salary for all public educators will be 50,000 + average cost of living with wage increases(explained down below)
   1. Yearly wage increase for educators to match/exceed average cost of living
      1. For teachers working for 7 years with any school, wage will be increased to match average cost of living each year till the end of 7th year
      2. For teachers working for more than 7 years(finished 7th year and starting 8th) with any school, wage will be increased to exceed average cost of living by 5%
4. Ensure a healthy environment for all students
   1. Equal number of gender neutral bathrooms as gender specific bathrooms
      1. For every 1 male specific bathroom and 1 female specific bathroom there is to be 1 gender neutral bathroom.
         1. Example: If a school has 4 male bathrooms and 4 female specific bathrooms, there will be 4 gender neutral bathrooms of the same size
      2. Bathroom consists of solely stalls with no urinals.
   2. One/Multiples school therapists and counselors for mental health issues in the school
   3. BIG library
      1. Multiple volumes of interesting books
         1. Both educative books & leisure books
      2. Enough computers for multiple classrooms to work on simultaniously
      3. Relaxing environment
         1. Painted with relaxing colors that are easy on the eyes(lavender, pale grey, cool blue, grey-blue, pale pink, pale green, ect.)
      4. Multiple couches and bean bags

My duties have included being a Chief Financial Officer for a non-profit organization, an elected Union Officer for the Utilities Workers Union of America, being an Advocate and Coordinator for a Global Movement.

It is impactful to be both productive in our work efforts while emergent in our pursuits and vision.

Technology continues to give humanity better tools to execute what we grasp as possibilities; for us to continue forward beyond hopeful dreams into a reality. We live in a time where it is important that humanity holds itself accountable for its’ decisions as a species. Now is the time we put aside faux arguments and to fix our gaze on creating a home for generations to come. How long can we wait for the future to “fix” our current problems and how futile it is to blame the past. Now is the time, the only time. We are here to say we have done what we can, and we have done more than most dreamt possible.

As a developing nation we have the chance to build up an education system that supports and works with the current way the 21st century is and the way that it is heading. As someone who has just come out of the public education system I understand the current problems with the education system on Earth today and I believe in a couple ways that we can change and improve this system for the benefit of our children and our future leaders.

MAIN GOALS

• Building an online school system
• We must build a system that works for anyone in the world, including people who don't have access to a physical school. We must also provide a way to give internet to those who may not have access to it. That would include working with companies that are building satellites to provide internet or building our own satellite constellation to do just that.

• In today's current times we must develop a curriculum that works for today's world so that the future people of our nation are ready to work not against the robots taking our jobs, but with them.
• That includes improving the math classes taught as well as introducing programming and engineering into the classroom.

I work for a leading international NewSpace company and I plan to use my background in the space industry to help build and develop a thriving economy in space. I will use my position at Asgardia to bring our resources together and direct our efforts into creating sustainable industries in space. Using new technologies such as blockchain, there is potential for all humans to be involved in the NewSpace economy and take part in and provide resources for innovative missions in space. I will put my background in space law to good use and help develop plans and frameworks suitable for space missions.

Promoting and developing culture and arts is one of the most fundamental and essential goals of a well balanced society. As a classical musician, I am well aware of all the whys and wherefores that weights upon the shoulders of the artists, but also of all the benefits inherant to a good cultural system: intellectual and emotional stimulation helps every single one of us to grow, share and go forward in life. It is a wealth in every sens of the word, that should not be underestimated.

Therefor, I wish to do everything in my power to support this ministry to achieve its goals.

Our platform will include military and diplomatic measures for  Asgardians to ensure mutual safety and security. We will provide analyses that help policymakers understand political, military, and economic trends in a new emergent world; the sources of potential interstellar conflict; and emerging threats to the space security environment.
