Hello and good day fellow Asgardians, as part of Asgardia’s Parliamentary Elections in electoral district #1 (English), allow me to share my dreams and goals with you at this exciting time in human history.

Campaign Statement

I seek to contribute to Asgardia Space Kingdom in a leadership position within the Parliament of Asgardia. Since joining in June, I have been an active member within the community and have contributed my time and energy to spread the ideas of Asgardia and do research. If elected, I will work with the other members of Parliament and bring the skills I have acquired from my work and studies outside Asgardia. I have created and was, the administrator for my own group on the Steam video-gaming platform and have core knowledge in international politics with specialised knowledge in innovation. I have a skillset for nurturing relationships with others to collaborate on projects and issues. My interests and skillset in innovation, communication, politics, design and business allows me to work with others on social, economic and political issues that may affect Asgardia. If elected, I plan to use my skills, and experience as a leader to best meet the needs of Asgardian citizens and advance our developments to pursue Asgardia’s national goals of “[ensuring] the peaceful use of space… [protecting] the planet Earth from space threats… [and] [creating] a demilitarized and free scientific base of knowledge in space.” As well as to pursue my vision of making Earth a residential planet and making humanity a free, space-faring and multi-planetary species.

Who am I?

My name is Steven Wang and I am a 19-year-old Innovation and Design student at Melbourne’s Swinburne University of Technology, one of the top design universities in the world (Rank 32, 2016).

I am studying Innovation and Design and researching ways to help humanity reach the stars. My Bachelor’s course also includes elective subjects on International Politics, Business Law and Business Information Systems. My interests span from video games to space innovation and politics.

Vision for Humanity’s Future

We are living in the most exciting and dangerous times of human history - the on-going threat of environmental degradation, poverty and conflict affecting our planet is irrational and changes must be made. Our technologies to reach space must also be utilised and developed to allow us to live in space. We need innovative solutions now more than ever before, to solve these problems and secure humanity’s future.

It is my belief that Asgardia Space Kingdom can achieve its goals while helping our planet become more prosperous for the next generations of humanity. Which is why I seek a place in Parliament to make sure that as a nation we are progressing in the right direction and that our actions do not lead to greater deterioration of our planet along the way. We can make our Space Nation and space living a reality for all of humanity, the systems must be in place first to allow us to take the next steps, I seek to help implement these systems so that we can build our space nation together as one humanity.

My ultimate vision is to see Earth become a residential planet free from heavy industry and pollution. The first step to take is to bring industry to outer space and then move the polluting factories and power plants into space or nullified to prevent further damage here on Earth. This will allow humanity to focus on exploring the Solar System and becoming a multi-planetary species.

My Accomplishments in Asgardia

In this world there are too many dreamers and too few doers, let me show you my determination through the work I have done for our space nation as a citizen.

1. Since June 23 ^rd , I have been a candidate in the Leadership elections for the position of Strategist.

2. Since joining Asgardia, I have participated in debates and discussions on various topics regarding our space nation and other areas with prominent Asgardians such as Ross Cheeseright, who is also running in the elections.

3. Published a short research article on the psychology of colours on human emotions on my Asgardia.space blog. [September 9, 2017].

4. Designed a flyer to spread the ideas of Asgardia Space Nation to fellow students at my university campus and online. [October 12, 2017].

5. Published a short article on my vision to make Earth a residential planet for future human civilisations. [November 15, 2017].

6. Published a research report on environmental control and life support systems (ECLSS) for all Asgardians to read. [November 17, 2017].

7. Designed and published an Asgardia wallpaper for desktops on my blog. [November 20, 2017]

8. My Asgardia flyer and ECLSS research report have been chosen and featured by the Asgardia administration, receiving over 380 likes by fellow Asgardians on Facebook. [October 13 & November 18, 2017].

My Progress in Asgardia

1. I am doing further research on space technologies and space habitat design.

2. My initiative to provide quality educational research to Asgardians is being worked on alongside my research and design projects.

3. Currently brainstorming new methods of teaching for high school students and learning in space.

4. Working on designing products to be used in space for information processing and space living.

5. Informing others of Asgardia through verbal and non-verbal communication mediums.

6. Encouraging greater initiative and innovative mindset among people.

   3. Emphasise the importance of good communication in achieving our goals.

   1. Inform Asgardians of the importance of good education for the next generations.
   2. Research and design innovative ways to teach other Asgardians.
   3. Prototype and test new concepts of education systems.

   1. Collaborate with other leaders and prominent Asgardians to solve problems.
   2. Help nurture healthy relations between Asgardians for projects.
   3. Use diplomatic and soft power approaches to resolve disputes.
   4. Welcome new ideas from many and different Asgardians.
      
      
5. Establish a Culture of Innovation and Knowledge
   1. Continue working on my free education initiative ‘Asgardia Scientia’ to educate Asgardians and let the community appreciate research and knowledge acquisition.
   2. Market science and innovation communications to promote a culture and society of science and innovation.
   3. Host and organise competitions of science and innovation projects for the public.
   4. Encourage scientific and innovative thinking through the media and workspaces.
   5. New social norms with appreciation and equality of the arts, sciences and creative disciplines.
      
      
6. Push for Space Technology Development
   1. Coordinate budgets to give space technology development top priority.
   2. Organise groups and specialists to focus on technology innovation.
   3. Communicate with leaders on laws and policy regarding the use of technology in space.
   4. Encourage greater motivation for new space concepts and technologies.

Why vote for me?

My vision for the future helps both Asgardia in space as well as humanity on Earth. By focusing on both problems on Earth and in space we can truly secure humanity’s future and the next generations who will lead after us. In Parliament I will consolidate a culture of science and innovation in Asgardia, as well as focus on the foundational systems we need as a nation to be recognised by the countries of the world. Through diplomacy, discussion and openness to express ideas we can solve the problems of today with the thinking of tomorrow. In addition, I plan to be one of the few who seeks to innovate space technologies for outer space applications and help humanity a become multi-planetary and space-faring species.

I intend to make space living a reality, by innovating for humanity so that as a species we can progress and evolve to become a space-faring civilisation. With actions, not just words. That is why I will work with the many scientists, engineers and creative professionals of Asgardia to make my goals a reality. My experience in professional communication and the retail industry makes me well suited to nurture healthy relationships with different individuals and groups, allowing for more efficient communication between people in projects and business. In addition, my critical thinking skills and experience with first-principle thinking allows me to tear down a problem and come up with innovative solutions. Finally, my knowledge and experience with the international politics discipline can help us as a nation to find ways to be recognised by the international community and United Nations’ members states.

As a Member of Parliament, I promise to work with other leaders to make our space nation a reality with a culture of science and innovation enhanced by the latest space technologies to help make humanity a space-faring civilisation. Let us work together to help make our space nation a reality!

Innovation, Unity, Science and the Future are my focus for Asgardia's Parliament and development as an MP

Now, I know we were all pushed into participating as possible candidates for MP in Asgardia's Parliament in our Space Nation's 2018 election. Despite the fact that the miscommunication issue on the website confused everyone and in Asgardia's Constitution it even states that:

Asgardian citizens who have reached the age of 40.

The elections will still continue with all the possible candidates being able to further their efforts to become noticed in the Asgardian community. This is a good time to really contribute to Asgardia and show others your capabilities in really helping Asgardia develop and making our nation a reality for all of humanity. Even though in the end I may not become a Member of Parliament, I will still pursue my goals as a local strategist or just as a regular citizen.

Most importantly it is good for finding like-minded Asgardians who share similar goals and visions for humanity's future, this way our potential for collaborative project work and connections are greater. This too helps build Asgardia as a community.

Congratulations to our community, our citizens, and our leaders. We are now one step closer to our goal, with the launch of our info-filled satellite into Earth's orbit. Thousands of kilometres above us float hundreds of uploaded pictures and texts, filling space with the knowledge and presence of our proud kingdom.

During the process of transitioning to focus on the Parliamentary elections, there was a miscommunication and the elections were opened to everyone over the age of 18 and not just those that qualified under the rules of the constitution (age 40 and up).

That was Rebekah Berg's reply today to the recent issues regarding the age limit for the ability of the public to enter into the Parliamentary elections as candidates.

My previous post analysed the current issues with communications by the administration and the inter-administration groups which coordinate with Asgardia NGO. Now we have confirmation that it was indeed an issue with communication which manifested into the confused mess every citizen is now in. However, a poll has been launched by Civic Asgardia to get people's opinions on how we should proceed with the election process. Pick the option you believe would best help Asgardia move forward.

What I will be doing

- I will be working on my Parliamentary campaign work to be ready until Asgardia gives a formal and official clarification of what is actually happening regarding the elections.

- I will be working on researching and designing solutions for the communication problems we are having in Asgardia in this very critical time of our project.

[Unfortunately, due to me working 60+ hours in the retail industry and now with Asgardia administration's communication problems, I will have to postpone some of my developments on the Space Habitat concept for the Asgardia NGO proposals. However, once the administration has sorted things out and a better and more efficient method/system of communication has been put into place to help cure public confusion on current events I will resume my work on our space nation's potential space habitat(s).]

The existing problems of Asgardia are the current lack of foundations to support our space nation's growth and development. The power is not fully in the hands of the people, and a lack in communications between even the inter-administration bodies in Asgardia has lead to confusion, spread of misinformation, and public discontent among individuals.

Today, founder/manager of Voices of Asgardia - World Asgardian Radio 'Ryan Zohar' has claimed that his team's plans to initiate an "election coverage program" was neglected as the administration changed the Parliamentary elections finishing date to the 1st of January, 2018, which is less than 38 days away. He states that the plan was "in progress" and that there were plans to start the coverage program on the 1st of January yet soon without warning had discovered that the election conclusion date was moved forward 2 months to January, the day they planned to start election coverage. Zohar has expressed that he is upset and becoming "very angry with [Asgardia]" for making such a sudden decision on a event which affects everyone within the community. Another point raised was the lack of directions from the Central Election Committee (CEC) as well as the silent implementation of policies undisclosed to the public which affects the nation as a whole without prior consultation from citizens.

This seems to be a major problem in communications between administration and inter-administration bodies, not to mention the public. Asgardia's current means of communication is the website (asgardia.space) and Facebook (via official Asgardia pages), there is no autonomous model or system of intranet communications capability nor the use of a proven third-party source. This instance with Zohar and Voices of Asgardia is one of a few examples which shows the lack of effective communication capabilities in Asgardia. Granted, Asgardia is just over a year old and the project started in its utmost infancy which almost guarantees problems to appear along the way, however, the lack of even decent communications between the administration and the public could be definitely improved immediately. We don't need Parliament for good communications, simply individuals with initiative and want things to move smoothly.

We need good methods and systems of communication if we are to become a prosperous nation in the future. Without such fundamentals we would be repeating these same mistakes which hinder our progress and focus towards our goals of reaching space and protecting Earth.

Another issue at the moment is the lack of motivation from citizens to vote for a candidate in the Parliament elections (which is due to end in less than 38 days from now). Currently, there are 68,062 voters with only 1,484 (2.2%) people who have actually voted for a candidate. Showing a clear lack of motivation by citizens to vote in the elections, despite the election pop-up splash screen showing when someone accesses the website. This could be due to negligence to the political aspects of Asgardia or people who are skeptical and/or confused as to why our project has elections in the first place. Now, most people don't like to read about something they have never heard about, this is why good design is paramount to a successful start-up company. Asgardia keeps spreading images of fancy concept renderings of space arks and stations that has unintentionally mislead some people into thinking we are a physical entity residing in low-Earth orbit and even outer space. Instead of emphasising what appears to be a almost finished concept of our physical space nation, we should be focusing on informing people, newcomers especially, that we are a digital nation that is working to become a physical space entity in the distant future.

Asgardia (administration) may have the false impression that the citizens and visitors of Asgardia are all enthusiastic, optimistic and action-oriented people who would do everything they can to participate and contribute to Asgardia's national goals. This is clearly not the case, and many open skeptics now roam the website, forums and Facebook pages to disclose their complaints on the lack of good visible and physical progress from Asgardia. A conceptual (digital) nation such as Asgardia is not catered towards the users it targets, the lack of design thinking and principles along with the innovation process has made Asgardia a target for informed skeptics and critics such as James Allen who is the CEO of a tech company in the United States. Considering user capabilities is the first step before developing a concept, if no design is taken to allow the target user to empaphise with your concept then they will not care enough to use it.

These issues must be openly addressed and further discussions must be made immediately. I have my own solutions been worked on for these issues, however as a university student working more than 60 hours a week in the retail industry as well as contributing my time and energy for projects relating to Asgardia, I cannot solve these issues alone, which is why I ask for other dedicated Asgardians to discuss with others and formulate solutions to alleviate the severity of these issues.

We cannot solve these problems with an isolated and secular mindset, as citizens and supporters of the Asgardia project we should try to dedicate at least some time to come together and solve issues which affect the wider community. I hope that we can work together to put these problems behind us and focus on the goals of reaching space.

Asgardia Scientia Series Research Report 1 - Life Support Systems for Outer Space and Extreme Environments

As part of Asgardia (Space Kingdom’s) continued perseverance to establish a “Space Nation” and create “equal opportunities in space for all Asgardians” on Earth, this report will be one issue of more to come, made for contribution to the central knowledge of Asgardia and its citizens based on the disciplines and areas relating to: Space (astronomy), Political sciences, Technologies, Innovation, Business, Law, and Design.

This article will be focusing on Life Support Systems or, as space companies call them, environmental control and life support systems (ECLSS).

NOTE : Civic Asgardia was not involved in the creation of this research report. This is my personal contribution piece to Asgardia as a citizen, and part of my initiative to provide free educational research for Asgardians.

I encourage everyone to read and share my report and this post to fellow Asgardians who are interested in learning about the systems we need to live in space. Together, we can make a space-ready Asgardia nation prepared for humanity's next steps!

NEW VISION FOR HUMANITY - Earth Becoming a Residential Planet for Future Human Civilisations

Since joining Asgardia as the 50464 ^th citizen on June 22 ^nd I have had a lot of time to learn more and advance my research and design skills to better benefit Asgardia - Space Nation. As a 19 year-old student studying Innovation and Design I take great pride in the knowledge I have gained from seeing Asgardians much more experienced than I am, conduct their work.

Thus, a new vision has emerged in my mind. As an aspiring world innovator and trans-humanism advocate, I always look for new ways in which human life can be improved and made better, in the world of design the practice of 'user-centered design' is prominent for innovating new products and services that help make the life of individuals easier and more meaningful.
TV celebrity and English physicist Brian Cox recently announced his take, on a solution to Australia's energy crisis. He claims that simply cutting back on electricity usage in households is not enough, and neither is the commissions for extra power plants to be constructed. Cox goes on to say that “There’s enough metal, metals, in the asteroid belt to build a skyscraper 8000 stories tall and cover the earth in it... Essentially, an unlimited amount of resources [sit] there in the asteroids." To expand our reach beyond the confines of our own planet and into celestial bodies within our Solar System, and become a "multi-planetary civilisation" we will need to shift our focus from just staying a single planet into a focus on a perspective that involves everything within our Solar System.

This idea is echoed by Jeff Bezos (CEO of Amazon) who owns Blue Origin, and wants to grow human civilisation beyond our own planet. By making Earth a 'residential zone', we would essentially move all the "energy intensive and resource intensive stuff... off the planet" Meaning: all the factories and manufacturing facilities we currently use here on Earth - whether to create new products and goods or generating electricity and gas power, all of it will be moved off the planet to prevent further environmental damage while the human populations of Earth can live freely and 'work' itself may become voluntary, and not forced on people at the risk of debt and slavery. Cox says that our goal as a species should be to harness the ability to use more energy, not use less energy. And that will allow us to "expand civilisation" while improving the quality of life in developing countries, advancing technology and science with it.

Companies such as SpaceX, Blue Origins and Lockheed Martin among many others are focusing on taking humans beyond low-Earth orbit in the hopes of colonising other worlds such as Mars. We are already taking our first steps as a civilisation to becoming a multi-planetary and space-faring species and with a grand vision to make our planet Earth a residential zone for the prosperity of future human civilisations, the space industry is once again at full throttle seeking the final frontier.

My Plans

I seek to be among the dedicated few who desire to make this vision a reality, I have already begun research into life support systems and will soon begin designing concept space platforms for possible proposals to Asgardia. The first step to "ensure the peaceful use of space." is to actually bring humans and industry into space. Which will allow us to focus on protecting the "Earth from space threats". There is even the possibility to have a moon or other celestial body for Asgardians to inhabit which will become a "free scientific base of knowledge" in outer space. This vision will help realise the goals of Asgardia as well as the future and salvation of humankind.

A new age dawns, a space age for all of humanity to finally make Earth a residential prosperity and the Solar System our cities of innovation.

Swinburne has just recently installed a new HP Jet Fusion 3D Printer to become the first Australian or New Zealand university to have a new 3D printing technology installed. This gives Swinburne university students a great advantage and provides faster printing, allowing faster prototyping with designs and gives us the same edge that large companies have with their prototyping laboratories.

As a Swinburne University student who is part of the Faculty of Health, Arts and Design (FHAD), I have access to this new 3D printing technology and fellow students who have industrial design and computer graphic knowledge are able to take advantage of this new HP printer to create industry ready products and materials. In the future I will partner with other Swinburne students to design and prototype products and systems for space-related activities.

Swinburne University remains one of the top Innovation and Design universities in the world and with this new 3D printing technology, Swinburne University is assured to keep its position as one of the best for those pursuing design work.

I seek to establish a more central focus on design for Asgardia, especially since I have access to this industrial-grade technology. Allowing me to design and 3D prototype satellite parts and structures that are ready to be implemented into a final product is incredibly efficient and resourceful.

That's why I encourage Asgardians to be more aware of the importance and capabilities that design can bring to a project such as Asgardia. As an Asgardian studying Innovation and Design, the way one implements innovation leads to design and scientific breakthroughs across all fields. Just as one does not write an essay without a plan, we must not neglect design when creating the world's first space nation.

This morning at 7:19 a.m. EST (1219 GMT), we witnessed the launch of our Space Kingdom's first satellite, which marks our first physical first step towards becoming a recognised Space Nation by the nations of Earth. Our work will be more difficult now and there are many things to do however, seeing the dedication and work by fellow Asgardians such as:

Among many other dedicated Asgardians who are critical, innovative and desire to make our Space Kingdom a reality for all of humankind. Thank you all!

I also want to thank every Asgardian for the progress made so far, and though development is slow, we have seen good progress made within the year since Asgardia was first founded and introduced to all of us. Never did I think i would witness a nation launching into space in its first stages. A big thank you to Dr. Igor Ashurbeyli, Lenna De Winne, and Rebekah Berg among others in the administrative and communication branches of the Asgardia Administration for making what we have achieved thus far possible.

Now we focus on the next step of forming our Parliament and Ministries with Citizens representing our ambitions to reach and live among the stars, and despite setbacks we will remain diligent and create new solutions for the problems we will encounter. These are truly exciting times for Asgardia and the world, we embark on a journey never attempted before and to think we are the first to attempt such an ambitious project to establish a space nation is such a unique opportunity for all of us, and that is something to be proud of.

Let us take the next step, for the future of humanity, united through innovation and science.

Over the last month I have been researching Life Support Systems for space habitats and extreme environments, I am currently compiling my findings into a research article to be publicly read-able for all Asgardians. The article will detail the technologies of life support systems used on the International Space Station and other habitats. As well as the applications of LSS for Earth and dangerous environments.

I believe that as a Space Kingdom with a nation that wants to pursue space living in the future, it is critical that we learn about the very technologies and systems that will keep us alive in space.

My article should be ready to be published sometime soon in the coming weeks, if there is enough interest by Asgardians, I will continue to try and publish these reports and articles for the purpose of contributing to Asgardia knowledge and education.

My current progress and projects:

1. Stardust Central Innovation Hub (TM): Large off-shore habitat platforms for entrepreneurs, scientists, engineers and creative professionals to collaborate and work on projects. Currently in ideation and concept stage of development, expected to begin construction by Q1 2030.
2. Machine of Augmented Data (M.A.D) (TM): A hand-held device which allows easy processing of documents and location analysis (more features to be added in concept), designed to be rugged, fast and use open-source operating system and software for customization and industry adaptation. Display uses a hologram projection through a magnified optical lens which consumes minimal power whilst providing 16-bit color display capabilities (aiming for 32-bit color capability during refinement). Currently in ideation and concept stage of development, no current date set for completion.
3. Aurelia Aerospace Research Innovations (TM) (AARI): Aurelia Aerospace Research Innovations is a private company focused on products, services and systems in the space industry. Dedicated to researching and exploring the unknown depths of our universe, AARI seeks to create innovative products, services and systems for the next generation of astronautical pioneers. Currently in the ideation stage of development, AARI is expected to be officially operational and funded by Q4 2025.

My campaign for Strategist involves designing innovative systems and products for Asgardia to allow all Citizens to live prosperously.

I have begun work on designing the physical aspect of Asgardia: Sustainable kinetic energy systems and sustainable residential living space/architecture. Also, I am creating a central hub within Asgardia that will allow us Citizens to come together and share knowledge and ideas more easily and efficiently, I have designed a flag for this concept physical hub and is named 'Stardust Centralis'.

Central Goals : Unity, Sustainable energy systems, Sustainable Living Space & Architecture.

1. Asgardia seeks to unite us under 'One Humanity [and] One Unity' and I will assist in accomplishing this goal. We are currently scattered all over the world and the Facebook platform helps connect us but it does not allow us to come together. I want to create a physical central hub for Asgardia to help us be more easily connected allow us to share our ideas, knowledge and experiences with each other, bringing us closer to One Humanity.
2. Sustainable energy is a crucial step towards establishing an autonomous and independent space nation. I am determined and willing to bring innovative sustainable energy systems to Asgardia using design thinking. My current progress is at the research and concept stage of kinetic energy. I am certain my goal will become reality.
3. Living spaces are necessary to allow Citizens of Asgardia to thrive in space as well as Earth. I am researching and designing micro-living spaces and architecture that is sustainable and provide prosperous Citizen living while reducing the problems of overpopulation and size waste. I am passionate about this area and look forward to presenting my proposals to the leaders of Asgardia once I am Strategist.

Why Me?

Ever since I was a child, I looked to the stars and see unlimited potential for the human race. That is why I am studying Innovation Design, because I want to innovate human society to live in space one day. Currently, I am researching kinetic energy systems and sustainable micro-living spaces/architecture. I have worked in retail for over 2 years, and have found flaws in many of the products and systems we use today and is why I seek to design new products and systems for Asgardia to help all Citizens live happy and prosperous. Right now, I am doing a Bachelor Degree for Innovation and Design at Swinburne University of Technology (Rank #32 in the world for Design) and am happy to pass on my knowledge to other Asgardians to develop our Space Nation, I have a passion to contribute to Asgardia and see us thrive as the first space nation.

My Next Steps as Strategist:

When I have 100 votes and am elected as Strategist for Innovation Design, I shall continue to push for my central goals to be completed. Asgardia is a long way from becoming a full space nation, so we have to do everything we can to make this reality.

My first steps as Strategist will be to:

1. Unite passionate Asgardians and create the physical hub 'Stardust Centralis' for Asgardia to bring us closer to One Unity and allow us to more effectively and easily share our knowledge and experiences.
2. Gather funding and resources to start prototyping and production of sustainable energy system designs.
3. Join forces with other passionate Asgardians such as fellow Strategist Ross Cheesright and Trendsetter Jeremy Saget to share ideas and develop new technologies, systems and products for Asgardia.
4. Work with others at my university campus to promote Asgardia and spark passion for science and space.
5. Propose design and business proposals to Asgardia NGO founders for approval to test prototypes and funding.
