Previous or current Military service being an issue with citizenship?

Would joining one's current national military be considered a conflict of interest with Asgardia?

Why? Who invented the internet? wasnt nerds it was the military.

There are literally hundreds of skills that do not require everyone to be rambo. I was a law enforcement specialist (ie: police). I was a dog handler also trained to find explosives. I was also a plumber. So I know about policing, finding explosives and how to unstop a toilet.

I was also a correctional officer in a max security prison. I bring a multitude of experience.

Now explain again why being in the military is a bad thing?

I'm not saying it is at all, quite the opposite actually. The majority of my family is either current or previous military for most the US branches. I am asking if it could be seen as a conflict of interest from either end, Asgardia questioning allegiance or Military questioning the same. By all rights we are asking for a dual citizenship until Asgardia has an official land space, either here or in orbit. This is merely a question of opinion.

I am ex military. I was trained to use weapons, but I was also trained in first aid which included setting broken bones. cutting off bleeding arteries and performing trakiautomies. I also trained in firefighting. I worked on the flightdeck of an aircraft carrier, and safety was a main objective, being this was one of the top 3 most dangerous jobs in the world. With that said, I believe that ex military have an advantage on a space rig.

There is no reason current or previous military service should represent a conflict of interest with Asgardia. Nothing we're doing should be of interest or concern to your employer and your actions in this endeavour as part of your countries military are just that, your actions as part of your countries military - not an Asgardian citizen. As long as you can leave the military behind you when you are discharged, and don't become a war criminal(should be easy to avoid) there should be no concern to Asgardia.

And yes, nerds did invent the internet. It was for the military, but it sprawled out of DARPA - which is wall to wall geek. That's where all the cool things come from. Nerds and geeks.

Being in the military could be considered a bad thing by the military, as pointed out it could lead to various questions of aliegiance. From Asgardia's point of view it's free training or reduced time to complete anything we come up with.
