In Asgardia, we are part of a democracy; This means that the power is in the hands of the people through their right to vote.
Citizens vote for a representative that will hear their views and champion their cause. These representatives ...
I have had another great question, this time from Asgardian Tierial and it addresses some great points about the future of Citizens in Asgardia.
The question:
“Good evening I have a few questions for you Ross please forgive ...
Thank you for your kind words, Gentlemen. Rest assured that the work you all do for Asgardia has not gone unnoticed to me. I look forward to working with you all in some capacity to make this project a success.
Well said Ross, and I couldn't agree more - I am eager to see who else will join the race and what ideas they have to contribute, I would be disappointed if it remains only us 6 in district 1 to fill the 70+ seats. Skills can be taught ...
Yes, you are number one and superstar now. You have alluded all my concern. Seemingly ATSN has no perception on Macro Economic ,in particular Asgardian People's economy. I can't wait to see the 12 Ministers and grasp their concept , plans and policies. I don't know which minister to ...
Earlier, Asgardian “The Fabulous Pineapple” asked a great question regarding my push for Virtual Reality. One of the things that I like most about Asgardia is that we have people that are willing to question things and to think logically and to look to the future of ...
A worthy suggestion, Meloxyde. Nothing is off the table at this point! We'll let the will of the people guide us if we get enough support for VR.
Great idea!
Pearhaps a Asgarian Town on Sansar (the new Second Life and vr oriented) could be a good start ?
Hope all Asgardians who celebrate have a happy Halloween, those who don't happy normal October day :)

I love communicating with my fellow Asgardians. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment on my posts, Sir. I appreciate it.
You have always been one of good communicators for Asgardians.
Introduction

Hello Ross
I'm glad to see someone who is willing to give most their time on this project and contribute so much. I had a question about communication on social media. Do you have a Facebook page or twitter profile for us to listen to your ideas ...
Hello Fabulous Pineapple – this is a Fabulous question, allow me to break it down a little and give it my full attention. I’ll apologise in advance for the wall of text, but I just love a good discussion!

Fellow Asgardians,
There have been some developments in the past few days and the minimum running age for parliament has been dropped from 40 to 18 and so, without further delay, I would like to take this opportunity to officially announce my ...
I have seen a lot of discussion about this recently and I have seen people discussing it in-depth and I also know that this will be a polarizing issue for many Asgardians, but I would like to address it none-the-less and give you my perspective on it. ...
Spanish:
Bienvenido a Asgardia! También creo que podemos hacer cosas increíbles si aceptamos la realidad virtual y la tecnología digital. Así que no importa dónde estemos en el mundo, tenemos algo que nos conecta :)
English:
Welcome to Asgardia! ...
I must say, you are really right. Digitally, and in the future virtually, I believe we can be more united!
the idea of a virtual space as second life is amazing too, I would like to see it come true. I have ...
I agree there have been several times where people have said that "Asgardia is like a game." and a 'virtual world' might not help with that perception - but to have a virtual world where we can come together to collaborate and bond would be fantastic.

Genuinely felt pride for Asgardia, happy to be a part of this nation :D
On October 12, 2017 we celebrated Founding Day. One of the featured offerings on founding day was the infographic that looked back at some of the things that Asgardia had achieved and some of the things that were in progress and in my founding-day ...
Great comment, Edrick. I totally understand your desire to move off of Facebook and into real action in 'real life'. It might interest you to know that I have been working on a project for Civic Asgardia that aims to produce a bi-weekly report on hot topics, news, and ...
Great post Ross, these are my Asgardian Resolutions for the year:
1.
Continuing spreading public awareness of Asgardia within my local communities (As people have seen from my Founding Day Asgardia flyers).
2.

As always, a brilliant summary of key points. Thank you Ross, your commitment is exemplary.
- Asgardia, the country of space start-ups will seed capital of 1 million euros which can increase to an unlimited amount due to the sale of shares to Asgardian Citizens and INVESTORS. I like that job. Selling the shares to My FELLOW countrymen INVESTORS.
Great ideas/ plan of action! It would be nice to have a few more tools within the community to feel like we're dipping our toes in the water as a community. Business may play a role in that, but still, it would be nice to have a talent pool ...
I need more time to read it thoroughly to be fully understood.
Today marked another of Lena’s Live Streams where she speaks on issues that are brought up by the Asgardian nationals. In this article, we’ll be giving a run-down of the live-feed and summarising some of the more interesting points that were made.
Asgardia’s latest ...
Brilliant re-cap of the livestream, Lena has addressed many concerns that was on my mind. It is great to see Asgardia encouraging an entrepreneurial atmosphere. Looking forward to future developments, as always. Thank You Ross.
Through the application of technology, it’s possible to help Asgardia grow, make money and come together as a nation. One of the purposes behind Nerdblog is to share details of progress that I am making towards building software and virtual worlds for Asgardia.
In this series, I’m going to be talking about Virtual Reality, its applications and why I believe that it could help Asgardia to achieve its goals. I’ll be using the term ‘virtual’ and ‘augmented’ interchangeably.
This is a cross-post from my blog: ...
I couldn't agree more, Mr. Snyman. If you'd like to help me bring VR tech to Asgardia, please lend me your support in my campaign for Strategist :) https://asgardia.space/en/blog/candidate/784722-8774-virtual-space-for-our-nation/
If there ever were an organization / nation that needed to utilize VR tech, it would be us. Possibly the Vatican, but definitely us.
As a science fiction author, I was naturally excited by the prospect of becoming involved in this exciting project. Becoming a citizen of the first democratic space nation brings many of my imaginings to (virtual at present) reality. In this time of appalling inequality - money, ethnicity, gender, age, ...
As a drug and alcohol recovery worker I believe that as a nation this is a serious issue and recovery from drugs and alcohol need to be one of our primary concerns. I would like to suggest that as a nation we begin with this goal in mine and ...

We clearly have matters that we disagree on, Ivan. I think that this comes down to the ambiguity and individual interpretation of the constitution and the systems that asgardia will use.
That said, you make a lot of good points. I will edit the post to further clarify that while my post is how most parliaments operate, we don't know for sure how asgardia will.
But I still think that it's a good idea for people to see how an asgardian parliament will likely (or possibly) function.
The model we are adopting is a constitutional monarchy based off countries like the UK and Denmark.
It's not exactly a guessing game, but there might be some differences or surprises along the way and I will reflect that in the post.
As for the workload, I wouldn't mind! Just so long as we can share put the work in other areas. :)
Thank you for your reply, Ross. I think I was misquoted or that my saying was taken out of context. You list in your article a series of points
Thank you for your reply, Ross. I think I was misquoted or that my saying was taken out of context. You list in your article a series of points
Let's see which ones are really in the Constitution:
A is not expressly mentioned and is too general; B is implied under "adopting Asgardian law"; B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6 again are not specifically mentioned in the Constitution but implied in your understanding of it; C and C1, C2 and C3 are not mentioned at all; D is again implied (Article 33, paragraph 10, subparagraph i) and needs to be defined more precisely in the first few meetings of the new Parliament; so are D1, D2, D3 and D4.
Most of these points you made are, at this stage, falling under the Article 33, paragraph 11 ("The Parliament shall issue resolutions on matters within its purview, pursuant to the Constitution and laws of Asgardia. The parliamentary procedure for adopting Acts and responsibility for violation of this procedure shall be set by the parliamentary law.") which I basically understand as saying that the Parliament will have to define its functioning itself.
That's what I meant when I said that
« The list of items that you listed in your article are interesting views and I want to mention that since the Constitution which actually defines the role and limits of the Parliament doesn't specifically define these points, they are indeed good ideas but not acts of power of the Parliament. These ideas will surely be discussed at the Parliament in its first few sessions before it can come to terms as to all these roles, responsibilities and limits. »
So, when you say in your reply that you disagree with me, I think you mean that you actually agree with me to the fact that the above mentioned points you made are only valid under the points
and that the rest will need to be defined what the Parliament finally meets for the first time!
As to the Geography & Distribution paragraph of your reply, again we agree that it will be hard to meet our representative in person. My point was to say that in the traditional Parliaments you refer to, a citizen only has one MP who represents him/her, (one who might not even be the one they have voted for actually) while on the chosen model of Asgardia, a citizen has up to 69 representatives (like for the #1 District-English) who represent them. So the relationship is not anymore one-on-one but rather one-on-many. And that changes the relationship. So when you say "If you have not contacted your representative to explain your needs...", I think an -s at the end of "representative" would make more sense, unless you really want to encourage the petitioning of only one MP! (popular as you're getting, Ross, encouraging that one-person petitioning might end up giving you much more work than the other MPs, so mind your words! ;-) )
Anyway, I should have started that thread on FB which I find easier to use and more interactive :-)
