I would like to suggest a modification to the URLs functionality in the forums, Currently user clicks an URL and it opens up in the same browser. Where in my opinion this click function should be opening up a new window. So people can stay on the same page and still engage with the peers.

This setting is actually based and setup within your particular web browser. Which browser are you using? Internet Explorer has that in their 'Internet Options' system settings, for example.
