Asgardia-1 has been deployed into low earth orbit from the Cygnus OA-08 vehicle, just a few hours after its release from the International Space Station.
Later today, 6 December 2017, at 8:10 AM EST (13:10 UTC), Cygnus will undock from the ISS and fly to an altitude of 500 km where Asgardia-1 will be deployed into orbit.
The number of Asgardians has gone up more than 40% in less than a month since the launch of Asgardia-1 satellite on November 12, 2017.

The Cygnus cargo spacecraft with the Asgardia-1 satellite aboard has docked to the International Space Station (ISS).
On 12 November 2017, the space nation’s first satellite, Asgardia-1, was successfully launched into space from the Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia, USA. Head of Nation Igor Ashurbeyli was present to oversee the launch.
The population of Asgardia has recently overtaken that of Kiribati, putting Asgardia in 174th place by population size worldwide, as over 114 400 citizens sign up to the first space nation.
Our Asgardia-1 satellite was launched successfully today from the Wallops launch site in Virginia, USA.
Dr Igor Ashurbeyli, Asgardia’s Head of Nation, accompanied by members of his administration personally witnessed the launch.
We are delighted to announce therefore that the Asgardia space kingdom has now established its sovereign territory in space.
