Asgardia’s Parliament is now just steps away from its purpose as a fully functional legislative body. Head of Nation Igor Ashurbeyli issued Decree No. 17, in which he summed up the results of the initial voting period during 1-9 March 2018 and the by-elections during 6-16 May 2018.
On 24 June 2018, the first-ever parliamentary session will take place in Vienna, where the IDs of the elected members will also be checked. With the Parliament finally formed, Asgardia will now continue to form the other bodies of government.
Population of Asgardia continues to grow, as new people join, accept the Constitution and become citizens of the first-ever space nation.
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has confirmed the Rules for holding the by-elections to the first Parliament of Asgardia, which will take place during the period of 16 April - 16 May 2018 (22 April - 24 May 0002).
To simplify the logistics, the CEC has decided to organise the by-elections in a singular district.
From today and up until and including 16 May 2018 (24 May 0002), Asgardia has resumed accepting candidate applications to the first Parliament of Asgardia.

As a result of these elections, a decision has been made to conduct by-elections to the Parliament of Asgardia. The by-elections will take place 16 April – 16 May 2018 (22 April – 24 May 0002).
You are invited to nominate candidates for UNESCO’s Space Science Medal, established to recognize outstanding achievements in all areas of space exploration. The medal is the first-ever space award, established jointly by UNESCO and Asgardia in June 2017.
The award ceremony will take in Paris in October 2018.

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has issued Announcement on the Conclusion of Parliamentary Elections and published a preliminary list of candidates to the Parliament of Asgardia.
The final voting round takes place 1-9 March 2018 (4-12 March 0002 by the Asgardian calendar).
More than 650 Asgardians from more than 80 countries have proposed their candidacies for review.
In accordance with the Directive of the Head of Administration of Asgardia, the Central Electoral Commission has prepared and presented the regulations for the final round of voting for candidates to Asgardia's Parliament.
