Forum - New Features

1. Add a Quick Reply to posts, so we don't have to load a new window when we want to reply to posts.
2. Add Collapse/Expand to the forums. Although each forum is important, there are subjects that people will not read, ever. By allowing users to collapse selected forums, that would reduce to amount of scrolling necessary to navigate on the forums. This should be saved between sessions so the user doesn't have to do that every time he/she logs in.
3. Add Signatures. I think Signatures are a very convenient way to easily share information across the forums. These should have rules so they don't become too distractful or disrupt the forums (for example, not allowing gifs).

If the Forum allows Signatures, shouldn't there be also some more basic information about the User be possible? (definently not standard but can be activated by the user) Like a Profile Page.

Your other topics are also very similar to the current forum software standards. Private Messaging though could be really important to the mod team. I like them and find them necessary.

Firstly congratulations for getting a forum up and running .! I am certain that much more can be achieved to identify and further our goals with this ..

Re Language options. As many Asgardians do not have english as their first language , for example the largest group is China with 130,000+ do we have other language options planned for this forum?

Are we planning an additional forum to cater for this or can we create boards within this forum that support non Latin lettering? English only is discriminatory to a large numbers of citizens. This maybe an issue for the Ministry oif Communication but as it is not running yet the creators of this forum may wish to act..

Thanks for contributing with your ideas! I went ahead and added them to my list.

I understand the point the using only English can seem discriminatory, but I think it more important to use one language because then people will be splintered off into segregated groups which defeats the whole purpose of a collective/community.

@Comet Girl: Agreed, but at least what I was thinking for localization is to translate just the tool. English would still be required in most of the forums, as these are the rules.

@Mau: Not at the moment, as far as I know.

Their should be a search system, so we can search "terms" in posts, because.... we will be quickly lost.

We should use some elasticsearch motor, based on lucene, for full text-search.
